Brief/Background

Repeat load cases in RCDC can now be done, as it can now read them when any model is imported to RCDC or the Advanced Concrete Designer workflow from other software like STAAD.Pro.

A Repeat load case is necessary for the analysis of a structure because it considers that all the specified forces act together.  For this reason, it will provide technically correct results in situations that incorporate any non-linearities. This includes tension-only or compression-only members, compression-only foundations, etc.  It is also essential to combine load effects with the REPEAT LOAD specification for a PDELTA analysis, else the analysis won’t “see” the P while it predicts the Delta.

Procedure for importing Repeat Load cases in RCDC

Listed below are the procedure for importing Repeat load cases in RCDC from STAAD.Pro :

Firstly, we will have to add a “Repeat load case” in the STAAD.Pro model.

Secondly, after adding all the load cases, we will have to analyze the model.

After analyzing, we will choose the “Advanced Concrete Designer workflow”.

Thereafter, we will have to add all project details and choose the required module.

Next, after making all the necessary settings, we will have to add the load type of the imported load cases.

Lastly, after adding the primary load cases, we will have to add the load combinations and repeat load cases from the analysis model.

*** RCDC can read REPEAT Load since version 09.03.00.25
